Epilogue

I thought this section was a nice touch to tidy up the loose ends. Although this book is not in my usual reading genre I did enjoy it. I did find have a few spots that were difficult for me to read but continued on and am glad that I did. I have not heard from many of you, but feel free to continue to comment. Book Six: Gracechurch Street

Well I hope this finds you all well. What a book, so many things are cleared up in this section.... Some of it was easy to see and other parts were a bit far fetched. Honestly I think Darcy is glad to be done with this trail. So much packed in here The Colonel's story of Wickham's actions and his need to assist him in order to protect His and Darcy's interest. Poor Lousia Bidwell to be swindled by Wickham. Wickham's story and finally revelation that Mrs. Younge was his half sister. I am amazed that Wickham and Lydia want to head to the Americas. I thought they would never get off the families backs. Cornbinder's letter, and subsequent meeting with Darcy about the Wickhams desire to move and could he help them. Darcy must feel like he is only important to them for his money. What did you think of the stories in this chapter and there plausibility.

Book Five The Trial

Trials are usually organized chaos with each side getting a turn to state their case. The Darcy's have begun to feel more of the squeeze socially as when in town they would usually stay with Mrs. Hurst but they were not invited as it might taint them. The Darcy's stay with the Gardeners who are happy to host them. In addition to being shunned by social, Darcy realizes no matter the outcome of Wickham's trail they will be closer than they have ever have been, this bothers him so much he begins to regret marring Elizabeth despite the love he has for her and their beautiful children. Wickham tainted the whole experience for everyone he comes in contact with first of all Georgina, Elizabeth, and Lydia. All of whom either loved him or was charmed by him in some way. What did you think of the Testimony and Verdict? Why was Mrs Younge there during the proceedings, do she and Wickham have a secret? What about the surprise at the end of the section? Did anyone see that coming? I must admit I knew a twist was on its way but could not predict the one that occurred. I hope you are all still reading this book!!!

Book Four The Inquest

Well Participants how are you enjoying the book thus far? We have made it to the inquest, by definition this is the pretrial examination of a criminal act. An inquest is suppose to collect information from each witness and the accused. Did you feel that this section of the book was informative enough? In Chapter one I felt the social inquiry and judgements at the church. I see why Darcy is always worried about how it might seem to the community as they are the role model for the rest of the community. The Bingley's go home and take Lydia with them as she and Elizabeth do not get on well. I suppose really if I were the Darcy's I might blame Lydia's need to attempt to show them up as the reason for all this event occurring at Pemberley. We have the meeting in the library where Alverston offers legal help to the two gentleman . Through this section we see everyone involved reflect on the situation, try to stay busy to return to normal but the truth is none of them will as it is too difficult. Bingley is a great friend to Darcy to do some of the difficult things that really can not be done by the Darcy's . Did you feel this section cleared it all up for you? What insights did you all have?

Book Three: Police at Pemberley

Well Friends what do you think? I see that we are all a bit skeptical about what the Colonel is withholding for Darcy and us. I have a few ideas but am not ready to divulge. I am pretty sure that Sir Selwyn will keep Darcy out of the loop due to his family connections to the victim and murder. Most of the Polices presents seems on the up and up, protecting both Wickham and the Darcy household. Why did the Colonel demand the Darcy spend the night with him in the Library? What was the great benefit to either of them or the house for that matter? What was it that Darcy witnessed the colonel burning in the fire in the middle of the night? Lydia is really troubling me with her poor demeanor and rude attack upon Elizabeth. It is amazing that she blames Elizabeth for every evil in her own life yet she is unable to look at her own actions and choices. Even to the point in which they arrived at Pemberley in the first place. It is time to tell everyone the story of the last nights events. Some will receive full disclosure of the events of the night before the ball. What do you think??????? I hope you are all enjoying this novel.

Book Two: The Body in the Woodland

Ironically the title of the book says it all, who would have thought on the eve of the Lady Anne's Ball that there would be a body in Pemberley's woodland area. In addition, could Wickham cause Darcy anymore stress, knowing there history it is not hard to believe there stress at Lydia's arrival at the estate in such a mess. The party finding Wickham over Denny's dead body is startling to all, considering what Lydia's reaction and description are upon here arrival. I found Sir Selwyn Hardcastle to be quite a character, old school and serious. What do we really know about what happened? Who killed Denny? Is Wickham's story true was it somebody else but who? Why would haughty Lydia come to the Lady Anne's ball uninvited other than to embarrass her sister Elizabeth. It is like she has no care for societal issues. What do you think of Wickham's supposed confession, Do you think it was a confession? Based on Lydia's arrival at the estate how will she take the news of Wickham's being alive, but under suspicion of murdering his best friend? Elizabeths reflections on the past and possible foreshadowing of what could become the reality of the situation was interesting for the last page. What are your thoughts?????? e>

Book One: The Day Before the Ball!

Welcome all to a new book! I hope that you have all enjoyed it thus far. I am appreciative to P.D. James for the Prologue, as it has been sometime since I have read Pride and Prejudice. Always good to catch up with the Bennett family. I had forgotten about Creepy Rev. Collins, the man bothered me than. Book One: The Day Before the Ball. It was great to get caught up with life at Pemberley. I am curious about the ghost stories of the woodland. What about Billings and Lousia Bidwell? Will they wed? Loads of Drama who will Georgiana choose to love? Why did Lydia the disgraced sister choose to fall into Jane's arms? What brought Lydia and Wickham to Pemberley when they are exiled? What do you all think lets chat? What are your impressions????

Overview

Another Book

Is anyone up for another Austin book or a different kind of book? I just finished the Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. I would highly recommend it. It was rich, real, and funny.

Final Section

I think that it is great that there is not a total happy ending. Those that deserved received and those that were foolish did not.

Section Two

Well the story picks up here. I am torn on how to feel for the girls. Did they allow themselves a freedom that their time does not allow. I think they have and yet I feel for them as in some ways they have been fooled but the men they have chosen. What do you think?

Section one

Okay Literary Fans,
Here it is I am going to put out my thoughts on all of section one. I have to admit that I almost abandoned this book in the beginning. I found the first two chapters painful, in part due to the exposition and character development seemed stagnate. Confusion arouse out of the repetitive use of Mrs. Dashwood. Which brings me to the fact that I am not thrilled with a couple of characters especially the younger Mrs. Dashwood who is out to deny Elinor and the girls what their father wanted for them. Then to push them out of the only home they have ever know.

I am not sure if Elinor really loves Edward or just the idea of him. Willoughby reminds me of some other character I have read. What do the rest of you think.?

The Return of Sense

Dear Friends,
Happy New Year to all of you. I am sure that you notice I fell of the reading wagon as we approached the holidays this year. With us going home and the regular aspects of life I was a bit overwhelmed for a bit. I know it is hard for me to admit being overwhelmed. I am a mom and don't think I have the right to feel that way. I hope that you will all know that I plan to post a couple of catch up blogs over the course of this week and then we will be square. Also keep in mind for another book.

What did you enjoy most about the novel? What did you like the least? I have to admit that I loved Elizabeth's treatment of Lady Catherine. What did you think?

Volume Three Chapters 6-12

Wickham's mess. What did each of you think of The Bennett's reaction to The Wickham Lydia situation? Who is at fault for it?

Volume Three Chapters 1-5

Well there is quite a bit to discuss about these chapters. I think that it is the first time I see Darcy as a complete character. His surprise at seeing Elizabeth at Pemberley is genuine and give him away. I think that he wants Miss Darcy to met her so they are acquainted for reasons of his own devise and hope.

I know Mr and Mrs. Gardiner must have been shocked to realize the connection Elizabeth and Darcey had for one another. Wickham and Lydia's actions are risky to say the least. I was wondering how Darcy might hold all this new information on the Bennetts.

Reading Four

Okay, Elizabeth might have been surprised by Darcy meeting her on her daily walks but, I was not as he seemed smitten with her. I am not sure where I picked up on it. Darcy is a hard character to love as every time I think he is a true gentleman, he makes bad decisions that affect others like Jane and Bingley. I was surprised at Darcy's marriage proposal. If they love each other so much how does he just confess to his flaws and leave her to her own life. I was mad at this situation as she could have said something when he gives her the letter. What would you do in this situation? Would you have left or fought? I realize that this is a different era.

I am worried about the life Charlotte Collins will have with Mr. Collins. He seems a little strange. Lydia's behavior in the end of the chapter worries me as to her maturity and how that will effect situations in Brighton. I am not sure she was really ready.
